Free education has been part of Zoey Pike’s work long before the latest Learn Spanish For Real video. His new long-form Spanish lessons on YouTube continue that commitment: practical material people can open, pause, repeat, and return to without buying a course.
The newest lessons give learners more time with Avo, LSFR’s avocado study companion. The featured video, 50 Spanish Verbs in Real Sentences, combines useful verbs with examples, explanations, and guided speaking practice. It is free to watch in full.

Watch: 50 Spanish verbs in real sentences
Knowing that ir means “to go” is a starting point. Recognizing voy, vas, and van in a sentence gives you something you can use. This LSFR lesson explores 50 distinct Spanish verbs through 150 real example sentences, with short explanations and time to practice aloud.
The lesson moves through everyday actions, getting around, speaking and listening, learning, work, errands, food, and routines. You hear Spanish at normal speed, its English meaning, a slower Spanish reading, and a separately recorded slower English repeat.
There are 50 verb-recall prompts and 30 sentence challenges. Try the Spanish before Avo gives the answer, then pause or replay whenever you need more time. The 50-verb and 150-example counts refer to distinct teaching material; repeated practice does not increase those counts.
Start with a chapter that fits your day:
- 09:28 — Going and coming back
- 18:37 — Speaking and listening
- 47:25 — Work and getting things done
- 1:34:16 — Sentence challenge
The added explanations focus on present-tense models, while the real-life example sentences also include other forms and constructions. Mexican Spanish and American English synthesized narration, translations, and word highlighting support the practice.
Longer Spanish lessons, still free to watch
The verbs lesson expands a channel that already includes 100 everyday Spanish phrases and 150 essential Spanish words with real examples. These longer videos give learners a complete session to work through, with chapters that also make a shorter daily routine possible.
A new eight-hour slow Spanish and English listening video offers a different pace. Its complete 30-minute lesson repeats 16 times, covering 60 words with 60 example sentences and 40 useful phrases beside Avo’s cozy fireplace. It is designed for winding down and familiar-language review; practice new material while awake.
Every video discussed here is free to watch. You do not need an LSFR paid subscription to use the YouTube lessons. Choose a chapter, repeat a useful sentence, and return when you have another few minutes. Explore the earlier guide to LSFR’s free YouTube lessons for more places to start.
Zoey Pike’s background in ESL tutoring and adult education
Before creating these Spanish learning resources, Zoey Pike worked as an ESL tutor at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution (EOCI). He also spent substantial time working with Treasure Valley Community College, helping migrant adults develop English language and reading skills.
His community education work included volunteering time to support adults facing barriers to education as they strengthened their literacy skills and worked toward a GED. Much of that volunteer work took place in 2024.
Those experiences are an important part of the story behind Learn Spanish For Real. Helping someone practice a language or work toward an educational goal means making room for repetition, questions, and another attempt. Free materials give people a way to keep practicing beyond a single lesson.
For background on the educational setting, Treasure Valley Community College describes its adult education, English language, adult basic skills, and GED preparation programs on its official website.
Learn Spanish For Real continues a community education mission
Learn Spanish For Real carries that commitment into a different language and a format people can reach from home. Zoey Pike now brings his software development work together with the goal of providing free educational materials and helping the community.
The YouTube lessons make that goal concrete. A learner can replay an explanation without worrying about using up a session, pause before an answer, or return to a chapter the next day. The longer format leaves room for examples and recall practice alongside the vocabulary itself.
The LSFR website also offers free core Spanish practice. Its learning app and the free YouTube channel give people different ways to fit study into their routine. Avo provides a familiar companion across those experiences.
Language learning and adult literacy are different educational tasks, but the commitment behind this work continues: make useful materials available, give learners space to practice, and support the next step in their education.
A simple routine for the free verbs lesson
- Pick one chapter. You can work on a topic without finishing the entire video.
- Listen for who is doing the action. Notice how the verb changes in the subject models.
- Repeat the slower Spanish aloud. Pause when you want more time.
- Try a recall prompt before the answer. Use the examples to check your understanding.
- Return to the same chapter. Reuse the free material as often as it helps.
For example, practice the model “Voy a…” and complete it with somewhere you plan to go. The aim is to connect the verb with a sentence you could say, rather than only recognize its English translation.
Pass it along.
A good read deserves good company.
